getting it done.

Wish us luck on a productive weekend (my mom and I). We are heading up north with hopes of booking a florist and baker. The Homestead is actually having there own bridal show that we will be attending, this will be my first. I set up meetings with 3 very different florists...

1 - A woman who works our of her home and is exclusive to weddings.
Marl Courtney Wood

2 - A local florist shop.
Premier Florist

3 - A flower farm that grows their own flowers.
Field of Flowers Farm

How did I choose these places?
Since we're planning from afar, websites and Google have been if for me. I have made very few calls and have planned most of my wedding on the internet. I hate making phone calls I would rather look at your website and email you - so, thats how I choose.

Wish us luck and we will keep you all posted.

We heart the snow?

Yes I do love the snow sometimes. I like it when I can appreciate it. Sunday the snow was beautiful and entertaining. Pixel and I accompanied my dad to take down his tree stands... we were not of much help, but pixel provided comedic relief.

She HATES her coat!
frozen and still having fun :)

Florida Panther

Being a designer... things erk me that may not bother others.
My current annoyance is the stamp available for postcard postage (only .26 cents)... its a Florida Panther. The usps does not offer any other designs, no cheesy wedding heart... nothing for postcard postage. I don't have anything against the panther. It just doesn't say 'come to our awesome celebration' - however it is a great illustration.
Ideally we (or I) want a stamp that compliments our save the date design custom stamps our awesome but can be pricey... starting at .69 cents a stamp. Is it worth is to splurge and spend additional $$ for custom stamps just so the save the date looks more esthetically pleasing?
hmm.... but the blue does match the bridemaid dresses :)

So, goal is to send the save the dates out by the end of the week! yes! At that time we will also unveil our wedding website. Yippee.

Can i buy the shoes before the dress??

I love these shoes. They may not seem appropriate for a bride at her wedding but who cares! - whose really gonna see them any way? I LOVE the vintage / nature feel of them. sigh. I just need a dress.

my readers ( including you Aunt Mary! ) -

Something fun? comfortable? ...

ceremony musician

BOOKED!
After doing alot of research for ceremony musicians, we came to the conclusion that they are VERY expensive and kinda blah for my taste. So, I started thinking... do i know any fantastic guitar players? Well yes we do! He is one of my brothers good friends... he is the guy at the party strumming the guitar to any song you can think of. Evidently he even plays the cello too. So my dad called him up ... said we'd rent him a tux... feed him... give him some cash... let him party with us -- he was honored!
So - we have our ceremony musician!

Yeah yeah... i still need a dress!

inspiration board - Again!

this was inspired by the top middle image of the tea tin vases... i think they are from martha stewart or the knot. I love them and was inspired by them.

Utah

Utah is where friends of mine just moved. They actually were neighbors of ours (Kristen and I) when we lived together. We've known them for less than 2 years, but they are the type of people you swear you've known for ever.
I first knew I was going to like Mark and Jme, when we met in the backyard. They told me their dog was named daisy... Not Only was her name Daisy, but she was also 'schoodle' just like pixel. As they say the rest was history. In just 2 years we had alot of great experiences together... witnessing Jme pregant and little baby bella herself are some of my favorites.
Although i know we will keep in touch and see each other... i still feel a big big loss :(
this picture was taken at the going away party...
look at little miss happy Isabela!

our ceremony site...

its a little scary but very exciting to know your venue is going under construction...! All we really know is they are creating an outdoor amitheater... sounds fantastic to me. This is a drawing of the site... is does nothing to help me envision it though...
This weekend we attended a wedding reception for my cousin who was married in mexico. It was great to mingle with family... a fantastic picture --- 3 generations :)

The Dress

Last night I went to Septembers bride again. (Great store). There are 2 dresses there I really like, but I have my fingers crossed that the dresses I really really really like will be at their trunk show in February.
Until then...
It is difficult to decide when dress #1 fits you like a (tight) glove and dress #2 is too big.
Its hard to know if #2 will have any shape at all... ! sigh
I'm debating on whether to put links up here... so you know what I'm referring to. And obs greg, you can't click on them.
Anywho, I tried on my first bird cage veil - love it, and while I was reading the wedding bee blog this site was brought to my attention (Mary, you must share this with sarah)
fantastic veils
I love this picture... a bird cage / traditional combo! Then after the ceremony I can just wear the birdcage turned backwards (its soo cute in my head!)

imagine only spending less than $80 on a bridesmaids dress....

You could if you took advantage of Ann Taylors dress sale. I'm loving these dresses. This weekend I will be going to Chicago... conveniently ALL of my bridesmaids will be with me... what if they all bought dresses at Ann Taylor (or Jcrew) while we were there... on sale for less than $80. That would be a dream. HA! if they got there dresses before I even picked mine out!
(below) Not on sale... but I heart it so much...
(online here)

jcrew for $100
it maybe to casual...

I LOVE the spring collection of Jcrew Dresses. ALL of them.
But this post is about love & PRICE

Rest in peace rock

This weekend we lost a member of our extended canine family.
Rock was only 3 years old and will be missed dearly…
in the words of my brother... "Rock was a bad ass"

Although I thought a lot about our wedding over the holidays I really didn't plan much.
The holidays were as wonderful as I could have ever imagined.
NYE was spent with friends at a local restaurant... we were planning on going to Bronson Park for the fireworks but I seemed to be the only one who dressed accordingly. Instead we watched fireworks from the parking garage roof top.

We can officially say we are getting married THIS year!
