Getting Ready

We woke up to a lovely morning full of sunshine. It was the perfect day to get hitched.
My girls arrived at my parents condo. We had coffee, diet coke, bagels and great company while getting our hair and makeup done.
My girls are so beautiful.

Kristen my maid on honor delivered My present from Greg. Pink Tourmaline earrings to match the pink Sapphires in my engagement ring. He's so sweet these were just want I wanted in fact I'm wearing these as I write this post)

Ah... the dress!

In the meantime Greg is getting cold feet. Seriously though, awesome photo right?

My Man... (who hates getting his photo taken)

This picture is one of my favorites of the day. Luke, my brother, helping Grandpa Rizzo with his Tie.

Enjoy!

Rehersal Dinner

August 1, 2008
The Homestead - Glen Arbor, MI

Our rehearsal started at 6pm and we all gathered at the ceremony site. Unfortunately we had to completely rush through due to a storm rolling in. This is something I really regret. I wish rehearsal would have lasted longer than 5 minutes, oh well!

We then headed down to Beppi's a Italian restaurant at the Homestead. We casually enjoyed salad, gourmet Pizza, Oberon, canollies and great company. Thankfully the rain let up and we were able to get some great photos of me and my girls.

The night ended with marshmallows on straws as microphones and rock band at the "state house".

highlights...

You know, I really have not 'highlighted' our wedding on here. I may be tooting my own horn with the highlight but really its my blog so I can if I want to. So stay tuned for all my selfish awesome inspiring wedding goodness.

Oh, deer

Considering its hunting season and my husband is a bit obsessed. I thought I would put together a deer and antler decor inspired board. I could life with these, not so much a huge deer head in the living room.

A good compromise? Its quirky, tasteful and a great conversation starter. See the whole line of stickers here.

painting . . .

Whoa! We just finished painting the largest room in the house... the living room!

Halloween!

Snow white with her dwarfs, Dopey and Sleepy.
I wore my shoes from my Dorthy costume. I applied all the sequence myself 2 years ago. They are totally worth wearing again! I took an upclose shot but am to lazy to upload it now...!

Fall

Somehow it seems as though fall has already come and gone... some colors are still here but i think i missed the 'peak'. Greg was gone last week and I think i was feeling to sorry for myself to notice the leaves in full color. bummer. After realizing it was already fall and I had not captured any of it, I reminisced about a Northern Michigan road trip we took a few falls ago
on the road...
at a winery...The wonders of point and shoot cameras with timers, stable rocks and wicked clouds.
Unrelated but fun to post...

Hank's defeated sleeping position after falling from his ottoman perch (which he has done twice now in mid-sleep, yes it is as funny as it sounds)

To Shoot or Not To Shoot???

A trash the dress session (or in the bridal world a TTD).

As many of you know Greg does not like his photo taken. He said no to a couples trash the dress session but he said I could certainly do it by myself. I Love photos and I don't mind having my photo taken... so this is not out of the question. Its photos like these that make me want to trash the dress.

A concept like this is fitting because greg and I love to bike!

Something artistic and over the top...

found on flickr
and then something sexy... ooo la la!
photo via Jen Kroll photography and the model talent is Aletha from Pearls Events. Here's another thought... get all my girl friends together and have everyone (including me) trash a bridesmaids dress that is sitting in the back of the closet. It could be a totally over the top trash too... It doesn't actually matter if you ruin the dress!

Lastly a 'boudoir' photoshoot ... these are some HOT photos... I love this ideas however, the wedding is over and I can't exactly give this as our wedding gift any more. It could be a good valentines gift...

i loveeeee this hot photo.

Wedding Season for us is over!

Kristen and Peters wedding was AMAZING!! Here's a little taste from their photographer Melissa Diekema, you can view the whole preview here.
Also, the fantastic Amy Carroll shot another wedding at the Homestead. I've been anxiously waiting for this preview and was not disappointed. I've gotten to know the bride Bree via email and was happy to share my Homestead experience with her.
See their whole preview from Amy Carroll here!

Where have I been??

I don't have the internet at home.... i don't even have my computer setup yet. This may seem totally wrong for a designer but it has been kinda a refreshing break. What have Daisy and Greg been up to?

1. Adopted another rescue dog 'Hank'

2. Attended 2 weddings in a row (and am preparing for the third)
3. 99% finished the bathroom.
4. Got back to cooking in the kitchen.
5. Cleaned all the junk out of the spare room.

What I have NOT done...

1. Publicly shared our wedding photos
2. Made/Written/Sent out thank yous
3. Changed my last name (yet...?)

ART SHOW

featuring me + 2 other local print makers.
This card was designed by one of the members of the show. It was created with a hand cut stencils and spray paint - impressive right?

A taste of the show...
my work will be priced to sell.
I don't have to go 50/50 or 60/40 with a gallery- whoo - hooo!

Sigh...

So the wedding goodness is over and my blogging really lacked in the time leading up to it. Sorry! I should do an over view from my perspective of the day when i get my pro photos. The sunset photo (or one very similar) is going to be used on the Homesteads billboards. Fun right?

Home related news :
I tore up all the bathroom tile and now our only usable bathroom is a disaster. We bought floor tiles, picked out paint color and I ordered a bunch of wall tile samples. yeah! And lastly, we have not seen or caught any mice in over 2 weeks.

Other wedding related news:
Kristen's (my maid of honor) wedding activities have gotten underway. We just send out her shower invites and have been bachlorette party planning. These will be events to remember and its SOOO fun to focus on someone other than my self (seriously - i mean it!)

Pixel's News:
Got in a 'fight' with a baby raccoon last night! Nobody was hurt.

Did I loose all my blog readers in my absence?

40 days left....

I had an AMAZING SHOWER this weekend. I will share details as soon as I can upload some more photos.

I'm not sure if i mentioned it before or not but i found a hair style that i lovvvveee. I found it in a random magazine. Its a channel No 5 ad with Nicole Kidman.
Basically a messy / curly pony tail. I'm convinced it will look lovely with my fantastic veil. Megan, is it what you thought?

exciting stuff...

I've got some catch up to do today with my blog.

1. Weeks ago I made some signs...
(this is me without any makeup and a crappy expression)
These signs turned out, but some did not. I missed spelled ceremony on a sign, oops. I'm not stupid i just see letter as shapes sometimes and things get missed :))))
2. I blogged about our first present awhile ago... here it is. I cannot even begin to tell you how exciting your first present is!

3. THE FIRST SHOWER
It was fantastic and perfect.
The highlight (other than presents and visiting with family and friends and fantastic food) was the collage 'game'. People were grouped together and had to make collages that they thought represented greg and it - I got to choose the winner. It was such a great game and was soooo fitting for me. Each collage is FANTASTIC and I can't wait to come up with a way to display them in the new house!

Me showing off the winner...
works in progress....
A Lovely center piece using my fantastic blue jars - nice work mom!

4. I had my first dress fitting and unveiling of the veil. I LOVE my veil almost as much as I LOVE my dress.

5. Invites are in the mail as of monday.

6. We have the house keys in hand and Greg is doing MAJOR yard work.

7. I think i found a hair style for the wedding !

8. We bought living room furniture.

9. Our wedding is 6 weeks from this saturday.
